(Yuma): (Morning Press Sun), (1915). First edition. Octavo. [24] pp. Numerous photographic illustrations throughout. Publisher's light orange wrappers with lettering in black and red and a view of the 'New Highway Bridge'. A very good copy with no faults. After the passage of the Reclamation Act by the US Congress in 1902, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation began constructing the dam under the Yuma Project in 1903. This project was the first development of the U.S. Reclamation Service along the Lower Colorado River and featured the Laguna Diversion Dam, a pumping station and a series of canals. By December 1908, the water bypass around the dam was complete and workers began to pour the rock-fill. Three large concrete walls supported by 6-inch sheet-wood pilings were built across the river for the dam's foundation. Rock-fill was placed in between and on the outsides of these walls for support. The California sluiceway consisted of three iron gates while the Arizona sluiceway had one. Mexican-Americans…

Octavo. 157, [1] pp. plus tow trail tests with the colors laid down; 16 completed tests (with the colored squares attached to the printed pyramids: all done by a 9 year old Etty Teller, age 9); many blank test forms, hundreds of little colored squares; and a large number of blank test scoring sheets. The clamshell case has a small split along the side (not affecting integrity), there is some underlining in the first part of the accompanying book no doubt by the previous owner-Dr. Arthur Teller of Geneva (surely Etty Teller was his daughter and he likely practised on her). Overall, very good. The Color Pyramid Test is a projective personality measure. Full crushed red morocco, covers with four gilt rules, front cover with gilt initial G.P., mulberry endpapers, all edges gilt. In the original felt-line and morocco-edge slipcase of gray cloth. A beautiful item.At first glance, one is tempted to think that the Universxity paid for this souvenit on the death of Putman but the lettering on the only text leaf and some dates of certain professors give doubt to that idea. The text leaf reads "To Our Friend and Benefactor through Many Years, George Putman, from the Mathematics Department at Harvard University as a Token of Respect and Appreciation." Minor extremity wear and previous owner's discreet signature but a very good copy.Mrs. Strahorn travelled throughout the West with her husband while he was engaged in writing promotionals for the Union Pacific Railroad. Their travels were extensive, and the author’s enthusiasm and eye for detail make this one of the key narratives by a woman. The color plates and multitude of black and white vignettes and plates by Charles Russell render it a prime Russell item as well. The author was “glad to linger over the humorous, to separate from its crude surroundings the picturesque element,…

San Francisco: Falcon Entertainment and Brentwood, 1976-82. A fine collection of mid-70s to early 80s gay film flyers and catalogs. There are seven original envelopes containing 32 flyers and catalogs plus one larger catalog from the video department of Chicago's gay Bijou Theatre (ca. 1982 with 109 pp. advertising "over 600 gay male video tapes"). The inserts (folded and very well illustrated from photographs, almost all in color) advertise either gay porn stars or their movies. Presumably one could order these films but we see no ordering forms (other than in the Bijou catalog). Today these barely lift an eyebrow but in 1977 they were considered almost illegal. Filled with highly detailed pornographic gay photographic images. Very good condition.Falcon Entertainment (also known as Falcon Studios), a United States company based in San Francisco, California, is one of the world's largest producers of gay pornography. Founded in 1971 by Chuck Holmes, the company is one of the most recognizable brand…
