Previous owner name on the front free endpaper, otherwise a solid, clean copy in an edgeworn dust jacket with closed tear to the bottom edge at the front joint; price is clipped. A reasonably nice copy of Faulkner's second Pulitzer Prize winning novel.

Paris: Les Freres Gonin de Lausanne, 1937. Very Good binding. Folio. 155, [1 (blank)] pp. Limited Edition, number 4 of 115 copies, signed by Chopard on the limitation page. Unbound and printed on single folios, all laid into printed wrapper with additional blank folios at front and rear of the book. This is housed in a parchment-backed chemise titled in red with a white, imitation levant-grained cloth, which is in turn enclosed in a slipcase of the same cloth and trimmed in parchment--quite a package! 12 full-page lithographs in addition to numerous in-text lithographs. The blank folios are toned from the wrapper; wrapper has a closed tear at the top of the front joint; parchment spine of the chemise is somewhat soiled; slipcase is soiled with joints that are quite weak--two splits have been mended, but remain tender. A wonderful edition by the Gonin brothers of the 18th century French poet's fables, beautifully illustrated by Gaston Albert Chopard.

In publisher's cloth binding with dust jacket. Dampstaining to the bottom of both boards, otherwise clean; dust jacket is generally and lightly shelfworn with some chipping at the head of the spine; it also has some corresponding rippling to the bottom of the both panels, but no staining, so the book presents very well;.

One of the first collection by author of Man Booker Award winning, Life of Pi.

Light soiling to the covers; corners curling a bit. Largely a clean copy, inscribed and signed by Goldbarth. This is a nice copy of one of the early collections by this prolific poet.

As issued, in cloth-backed boards with dust jacket. Binding is a trifle soiled; significant closed tear to the top margin of the title page (just touching the printed frame around the title, but not the text), the dedication page, and to much diminished degree, the following ten leaves; dust jacket is toned, soiled, and lightly edgeworn. This remains a charming book which we believe to be a first edition. While the book doesn't state the edition, the code matches the year and it was printed a bit before Harper began stating the edition on the copyright page.

Each engraving is additionally signed by Moyer and numbered 22/75. A bright copy without wear. Uncommon and delightful.

An uncommon regional history. Haynes 7414.
