The is Goethe's 1829 masterpiece made available for readers of English in a popular (not academic) version. Note that Faust is a play in verse, and this translation reflects the metrics and rhyme schemes of the original German. Although technically ex-libary, this volume was part of a retirment community library and saw very little circulation. Aside from stamps on the endpapers and title page, it is in fine condition. It also has on the front endpaper in handwritten ink "John McCeoup, Princeton, 1935"

One signature of the book is detached from the spine, but the pages are complete and the signature is sewn as an entity--no loose individual pages. New York: Random House, 1973. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/very good. Some mildew on spine of otherwise as-new book although DJ has very small chip in back. Book plate shows it was the fiction prize at Hotchkiss School--does not appear to have been read.

This volume has hundreds of examples as well as exercises of varying degrees of difficulty, Although the book itself is in beautiful condition, the dust jacket has been badly treated, and much of the back dj is missing or scrunched.

All of the Rivers of America are collectible, but the four Candian rivers are a collection in themselves. The DJ has a big chip missing from the spine. This is the Canadian edition published by the Canadian publisher Clark& Irwin; the American publisher was Rinehart & Company. There have been several editions by multiple publishers since 1950.

A saterical echange of letters supposedly from the AMerican War of Independce showing how the war would have been conducted by "today's bureaucratic government" (and probably lost) would be "Fine" except for a small stain on the front cover.

New York: Barse and Hopkins, 1916. First edition. soft leather. good. This is a "day book" with entries for every day of the year, all taken from the writings of Robert Louis Stevenson. Leather binding is in bad shape, but the gold lettering on the front cover and the printed pages are very fine. Back cover separated from book but present. The first endpaper has the inscription in ink "Merry Xmas Mother, from Leona Dec 26th 1915" and a short "Morning Prayer" by Stevenson pasted on a second sheet.

Cover and pages in very good condition, but gold stamping on cover has faded.
