Description:
[Kansas City: Lowell, 1980]., 1980. First edition. First edition. Cloth, 71pp. Num. illus. in color by the author. "Charley Little Otter is a Crow Indian boy growing up in the Pryor Mountains of Montana at the turn of the century. He dreams of the 'time-before-now' when Crow warriors hunted buffalo and stole war ponies from enemy Indian camps. His dilemma is that the old way of life is changing under the white man's influence. At the Crows summer camp Charley's daydreams get the best of him and an impulsive ride on his uncle's spirited pinto pony takes him up the mountain to a dark and mystical adventure. With gentle understanding, this story tells us much about the unique Crow culture through the experiences of a boy who could be among us today." Very fine in dust jacket.

AD 45, Centurions Marco and Cato, detained in Rome following an investigation into their involvement in a fellow officer's death, are made an offer they can't refuse.
