Description:
New Yok: Huntington and Savage, 1848. New Edition. Hardcover with paper rather than cloth. Very Good. The Sun, Moon, planets, and "fixed stars" as known in the early 19th century, explained in about 200 pages, one of several textbooks published by Huntington and Savage. A separate publication of 16 colored maps was sold separately and is not part of this offering. Aside from an owners name and school written in ink on an otherwise black half-title, hte book is unmarked and barely foxed. The front cover is scratched and slichtly soiled but still entirely readable. Pages are all there and tight. There is a long section of ads for other Huntington and Savage textbooks in the final pages and also a bdly faded list of the textbooks on the back cover

Description:
Chicago and London: Open Court, 1920. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Euclid Freed from Every Fleck, or a geometric endeavor in which are established the foundation principles of universal geometry" (published in Milan in 1733) was Saccheri's re-do of Euclid that was intended to demonstrate that the Fifth or Parallel Postulate of Euclid is valid, but which modern scholars recognize as the first (albeit unwitting) exposition of a non-Euclidean geometry. This volume features the original Latin on the versos and the translation on the rectos. Only flaw is that the label on the spine has chipped and is unreadable as a result
