Nicely bound in full brown calf. Spines with four blind-tooled slightly raised bands with gilt-boxed compartments and black title and volume labels and date in gilt to spine foot. Gilt fillet borders to boards.
CONDITION
Good condition overall with bindings holding quite firm. A few surface marks and scratches to boards with a small loss of leather to lower front hinge of vol I / II. Stain line across front board of vol III / IV. A little rubbing to hinges and spine tops and mild bumping to corners. Bound in contemporary half tan calf over marbled boards. Spine with four gilt-ruled raised bands with blind-tooled motifs to compartments and title in gilt.
CONDITION
The binding is in reasonable to good condition and holding. The front board is slightly cracked to the upper one inch and a little shaky to the remainder. There are scuffs, knocks, some wear, chips generally and a few losses of leather to the board corners spine top. I doubt the book has been opened to read. Internally the pages generally clean although a little dusty, with random foxing patches and spots, and some margin staining to end-papers. Previous owner bookplate central to front paste-down.

Nicely bound in period medium tan half calf over marbled boards. Spine with five gilt-ruled bands with elaborate gilt decoration and motifs to compartments, and twin russet title and author labels. Tissue-guarded portrait frontispiece to each volume. Top edges in gilt.
CONDITION
Both bindings are holding tight. The front boards of each volume are a little loose with early stage cracks but still holding quite firm. Boards exhibit some surface marks and small losses of leather to corners, also knocks and chips to edges with minor wear to hinges and board edges. Small ink notation and previous owner bookplate to front paste-down of each volume.
