There is a library stamp on the title page as well ("Enoch Pratt Free Library of Baltimore City"). The same library stamp also appears on page 52. The pages are lightly to moderately foxed throughout. The binding is tight and all pages are attached. There is no writing on the interior pages except for one stray pen mark on one page. The booklet is protected in a clear, removable plastic sleeve with backing board. The author, Joel R. Poinsett, served as the Secretary of War and Senior Director of the National Institution For The Promotion Of Science (which later became the Smithsonian) at the time of publication. He was also an amateur botanist and during his time in Mexico, sent back some plants to the U.S that later became known as poinsettias.

The green covers are good plus condition, with some staining on the front cover and a few small spots and creases on the back cover. The title and a drawing of Cranberry Lake are in black on the front cover. The binding is very good, all pages are completely attached to the plastic ring binder. The interior of this book is in very good condition. There is no writing or spotting detected in the book. The book includes many recipes for soups, salads, main dishes, breeds, cakes, cookies, deserts, and preserves and beverages. There are pages for notes and calorie information at the end of the book.

McGraw-Hill. 1956. 501 pages. Green covers very good with only very minor scuffing. The bottom right corner of front cover is bent, a small number (01650) stamped on bottom right of back cover. Interior very clean, no discoloration or writing except on front free endpaper (which is a stamp of previous owner (a biological supply house) and a name/date written in ink below it). Includes chapters on diseases of pome fruits, stone fruits, grape, strawberry, and blueberry; many black and white photographs.
