New York: MacMillan Co., 1903. First Edition, in dustjacket with variant lettering at base of spine. Decorations by Charles Edward Hooper and illustrated by Phillip Goodwin and Charles Livingston Bull. London's classic north country adventure novel. Uncommon in dustjacket. Near Fine, mild wear at spine ends and cover corners, contemporary date in ink at verso of frontis, in attractive Very Good dustjacket, split at front spine edge but rather seamlessly mended at verso with archival tape, nick at top front panel.

New York : Century Co., 1897 . First American Edition. Original green illustrated cloth and publisher's dustjacket. Although the English edition is occasionally found in dust jacket, the American edition is much less common. Not in Tanselle (for the English dust jacket see Tanselle 97.91) Very good with light shelf wear in nearly Very good dustjacket, with chips at top and bottom of spine, and a few tears along the spine and front flap.

New York: Fleming H. Revell Company, (1900). First Edition. Profusely illustrated. Large octavo, yellow cloth spine over illustrated boards, is the very scarce dust jacket (not in Tanselle). Very Good with very light shelf wear in Very Good dustjacket, with a few small chips and a few closed tears, one being 4 inches in length.

First Edition. Original three piece card stock volvelle or mixing wheel, 2 1/2 inch diameter. Advertising piece for 'Artco Inks' in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Very Good.

New York: G. W. & C. B. Colton, 1884. Duodecimo, 5 x 3 1/2 inches. Folding lithographed map (13 4/8 x 16 4/8 inches) with original hand color in outline and in part. Original brown cloth over boards, gilt lettering at front cover, blindstamped decorations at covers, yellow ad front pastedown. A later edition, but still a scarce map showing most of Texas and the United States south of the 34th parallel, first published in 1854, reissued in 1861 with editions including Spencer's Ranch, Fort Leaton, Eagle Press, Palafox, Rio Grande City are all shown along with the Texas border. Railroads are now shown running through Texas and across to California, and between Veracruz and Mexico City; the Texas, Pacific and the Southern Pacific railroads are named. Colton had begun publishing maps in New York in the 1830s. Between 1831 and 1890, the Colton firm dominated American map publishing, although Colton had no formal training in geography or cartigraphy. Original printed orange paper overs boards, black cloth spine, large folding lithographed map (30 x 38 4/8 inches; 28 x 36 4/8 inches to the neat line), with original hand colour in outline, with the major battle sites indicated in red, and an inset map of southern Florida (one or two separations at folds, a bit toned). The detailed map, 'Perrine's New Topographical War Map of the Southern States,' shows the states north to include a good portion of Pennsylvania, west through Missouri, and south through most of Florida, with an inset of the southern part of Florida, with sites of battles and important events circled in red. The text gives a chronological, day-by-day account of the progress of the Civil War through November 1863, followed by a table of distances, a list of casualties, and other statistical information concerning the war. Octavo, in the scarce blue cloth binding stamped in maroon and gilt on the front cover, and gilt lettered spine. Very Good with light shelf wear.

London: Chatto and Windus, 1921. First Edition. Author's first novel and extremely scarce in original dustjacket. Very Good despite some nicking to cheap cloth at top spine end, in dustjacket lacking top two inches of spine, some loss at flap corners

Los Angeles: No Publisher, 1903. 8" x 6" Photograph Album. Perfect bound black cloth over stiff boards; intact glycine sheets separate each of the grey craft-paper leaves. 48 black and white sepia toned photos. (Not included in that number is one page of miniature photo proofs cut in strips pasted in; as well as several smaller sections of proofs laid in). Many of the album pages include the notation of dates and place names. This album seems to document a family on its travels over a period of time dating from July 4, 1903 to August 1905, from New England to St. Louis and California, visiting family and friends on more than one occasion. Locations include: Winthrop MA, a beach community and popular vacation destination at the turn of the century. It is interesting to note that the Winthrop Yacht Club was established in 1902, only one year before the dated photographs; at the time of these photographs, the Yacht Club had 291 members – and is in existence to this day.
