Book is in Good- condition. There are a lot of condition issues but the main portion of the book is clean albeit there is one dog eared page. The boards are soiled and the spine is very cocked. The back board is tore at the bottom by the spine. There are some water stains near the front. The previous owner's confession in written inside the front board, "Stolen by with signature". Cracked hinges. This a scarce book from 1941 with a lot of different card tricks. (Two more pages in content I was not able to upload a photo of).

The preface contains the sales pitch as to why this book is better than a regular primer or first reader for the very youngest children.
There is NO dust jacket. Some color loss to illustrated hardcover, worn corners & edges of spine. There are two ink ownership stamps inside cover, name only. Inside is severs soil spots, a creased corner, at least five closed tears, a notch-type piece out of a page corner, and half of page 41/42 is missing.

Rare fourth edition. I received this book at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Probably the best source book for a high end home renovation. Even though it is from 2002 with a calendar that extends into 2003, the classic designs seem timeless. A great idea book with beautiful pictures and references for antiques to landscaping and beyond for Chicago and the Midwest.

Book Near Fine, Dust Jacket Good- large Tear along spine edge, worn at top & bottom edge & corners with some small tears.

With over 200 illustrations, book is in Near Fine condition due to some yellowing on end pages. DJ. yellowed, small rip top & bottom at spine. Top & bottom edge of spine bends forward. Still a very nice oversized book.

Inside clean. Bottom front corner creased + corner rubbed, indent-type scratch on back wrapper.

Fair or Poor condition. Pages are fragile and chipping at the end, has stains, pencil marks at favorite recipes and ads plus some scribbling in pencil. Names of contributors and an abundance of advertisements from local businesses in Aurora, IL. A far west suburb of Chicago. 168 pages

States First Printing: January 1994. Very slight wear to top and bottom edge of jacket. Top edge and bottom corner is a little bit dirty from dust.

This book is rare because occasionally it can be found with The Handy Book Company listed as the publisher on both the title page and the bottom of the spine. This one lists Hinds, Noble and Eldredge in both places. The 12 page, plus cover page, catalogue at the back shows that the Handy Book version was 50 cents while this one was $1.50 which is why it was purchased less often. This book is in Very Good- condition with small scratches to the textured boards mainly on the spine and at the top corner. The spine edges are worn. Wear to three corners. The gilt lettering is bright.. The back side has a soil spot and small scratches near the top edge. There is about a quarter inch tear at the back bottom hinge. Please see photographs. Author's signed bookplate is printed with her full name and Good wishes for good cooking and is signed Florence Hirschfeld on the front end paper. No other name is present. Top edge of hardcover book is red. Stated First Edition with an R after it. Published in 1965. Book is in Very Good condition, dust jacket is Fair. The last photograph lists Jerry Pinkney as the Jacket Designer. It also shows the large tear on the backside but looks as if a piece is missing. It was creased under but present. Please see other photos for dust jacket issues. The bookplate was apparently creased before being attached and has a smudge by the bottom corner with a small crease underneath it on the ffep. The top corners of the book bend inward. Some wear to board edges at spine and corners. Book is clean and in nice condition. The back cover has slight fading near the top. Lots of automotive ads . Paper cover has a 3" tear by bottom spine and a sticker pull on child's face . Several tears along bottom edges. Cover is loose. Paper is browned due to quality . There is a disturbing story on vivisection vivisection- medical experiments on animals mainly dogs. Scarce copy.

Enlarged to 72 pages with 205 recipes. Name written on wrapper and date 1910. Wrapper has some soiling and creased corners, small tears at top and bottom edges of spine. About a half inch closed tear at top edge of back wrapper. No writing inside, corner edges are bent. Inside of back wrapper is two pieces of tape where something the size of a bookmark was removed.
