Description:
A first hand examination of the development of various psychic disciplines based on interviews and personal investigations by the authors. The major areas are well surveyed, including: telepathy; reincarnation; collective unconscious and hallucination; mediumship; and the relationship between the occult and sex. An important survey of a significant decade for the field, well handled by Dr Paul Tabori who was literary executor to the late Harry Price.
A really nice copy. Pages are remarkably clean, bright and unmarked with just minor dust effects from age on the upper edge. Cloth boards are tight and clean. DJ is unclipped, with some minor staining/sunning on the spine and shelf wear at the top edges. All now protected in professional clear book wrapper.218pp

Description:
The invention and development of photography transformed the potential for capturing and evaluating information about the supposed spirit world. However the new medium was open to trickery and it was left to a dedicated band of photographers who attempted to work under controlled conditions. Permutt analyses their work using many pictures from his own collection. Many classic cases are interestingly presented here, including: Borley rectory; the Fox sisters; Ted Serios and Thoughtography, and many others. This is far from a sceptical enquiry, but nevertheless it's an interesting and sincere one.
A nice copy. Fore-edge marked with blue ink. Previous owner's details in neat pen to title page, and to front page. However not that intrusive at all. Cloth boards are tight and clean. DJ is unclipped and very good with just minor fade to the spine. All now protected in professional clear book wrapper. 185pp with many B&W photos

Description:
Napier's excellent investigation into the classic cryptozoological subjects of the Yeti and Sasquatch. He covers the apparent historical sightings of the creatures down the years, and looks to disentangle the rational from the legend. Whether real or not, he conjectures, Bigfoot plays an important cultural role.
The book is in unusually good condition. Pages are remarkably clean and tidy with a small hardly noticeable light brown stain on the lower edges . DJ is in VG+ condition, it has small diagonal cuts taken out of 3 of the four flap corners, but not price clipped. Otherwise excellent with only the most minor shelf wear. Baring-Gould was - amongst other things - a researcher and collector of folklore. It was this which led to him writing this book, often regarded as one of the seminal works on lycanthropy. First published in 1865, this is the Causeway 1973 edition. A lovely copy. Pages are bright and clean with no markings, inscriptions or foxing. Perhaps the very slightest of age related light tanning to page edges. DJ is unclipped and has only very minor signs of scuffing and one or two nicks. Spine is a little sunfaded. Description:
Ryall chronicles the previous life he says he lived, in the English countryside in the 17th century as farmer John Fletcher. Psychiatrist Ian Stevenson interviews him, and trusts his story. After the book was published a researcher could find no John Fletcher in records for the relevant area, and Stevenson himself later asserted that potentially Ryall had made at least some of the information up. Stevenson carried on investigating reincarnation and was much critiqued for some of his findings. Book includes a cutting of a Daily Mail article of 1978 about reincarnation.

Watson examines the case of Francis Stewart, fifth earl of Bothwell, cousin to King James VI and godson of Mary Queen of Scots. He was the accused in the most notorious case of witchcraft in Scotland. Was he actually the Devil incarnate as the case against him claimed, or was the case an attempt by James to frame a man whom he regarded as a threat to his throne?
Book is in excellent condition. Pages are intact, clean, unmarked and uncreased. There is a single corner in the first (blank) page neatly cut diagonally for some reason, possibly to hide a previous signature (see photos). Cloth covers are clean and tight.
