Second edition, octavo; [6], 64, 67-71, [7], 38pp. In full contemporary panelled calf (lightly worn with minor loss of leather to spine), lacks front free endpaper, portrait frontispiece, map of Worcester and plan of Boscobel, engraved coat of arms and dated title page to Second Part both present, occasional unobtrusive light browning and soiling, early ink ownership inscription and marginalia (including 'Willliam Knight His Book 1711' to blank page after heraldic engraving), overall a textually complete and attractive copy of the second edition of this celebrated account. In full leather prize binding by Bickers and Son, gilt heraldic arms to front board, gilt double fillets to board margins, five raised spine bands between gilt double fillets, gilt lettered spine label to second compartment, remaining compartments gilt, binding worn but sound, matbled endpapers, presentation label to front pastedown, occasional unobtrusive soiling and spotting to text and plates, last few leaves (booksellers catalogue) excised. A good copy.

Occasional spotting and paper browning but overall a very good copy.
