That volume has been here rebacked to style in fresh goatskin matching the original. Contents of all three volumes fine or near fine. Volume 1 is signed in the colophon by Ed and Robert Grabhorn. Volume 3 is inscribed by Jane and Robert Grabhorn. A beautiful set and an indispensable reference work.

DJ is bright and nice: archival reinforcement on back crown, and minor edge wear there as well, otherwise clean and bright. If you are looking for this book because of the Blue Ribbon dustjacket, then you should be pleased with this copy: not near fine, but bright and attractive.

The Cummington Press, 1946. First Edition. Leather bound. Very good/new. One of 50 copies signed by Robert Penn Warren and the illustrator. Printed on Kelmscott Crown & Scepter paper (softer and more flexible than the Arches used for the regular copies). The leather on the Cummington Press editions was generally very acidic and aged poorly. This copy has been rebacked to style and includes a matching black cloth slipcase. Original paper boards in nice conditon -- some toning to the top board (very small touch of corner wear), bottom board near fine. Arguably Warren's finest short story, the signed edition is scarce.

Book is very near fine in the original plain white wrapper (very good -- thin chips and splits but doing its job nicely in mylar sleeve). One of 280 numbered copies on Arches paper (out of a total edition of 330 copies). Arguably Warren's best short story in a really lovely edition.
