Description:
The All-Union Printing Exhibition was opened on September 15, 1927 in Moscow on Krymsky Val, on the territory of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition in the Main House. The design of the exhibition was carried out by El Lisitsky, who in the 1920s and 1930s took part in many exhibition projects, approving new principles of the exposition. Lisitsky, in fact, invented exhibition design as a new kind of artistic activity, and his experiments on the design of the exhibition space became the prototype of Western museums of modern art.
The All-Union Printing Exhibition of 1927 showed the achievements and summed up the results for the first decade of Soviet power in the field of the printing industry. David Nestorovich Kakabadze (1889-1952) was a Georgian artist, art theorist and historian, inventor. In 1914, together with P.N. Filonov, he created the group "Intimate Workshop of Painters and Draughtsmen", which released the manifesto "Made Paintings", where the principles of avant-garde "analytical art" were first proclaimed. In 1919-1927 he lived in Paris. He became one of the inventors of stereo cinema, having designed and patented a cinema camera that gives the illusion of a relief image. He outlined his theories in books. Illustrations on coated paper.
The condition of the block is very good, the sheets are not cut, the spine is lost.

Album of political cartoons with anti-capitalist and anti-Zionists images.
Author Aron Naumovich Gefter (1894–1963), a graphic artist, graduated of Vilno Art College, Higher Art and Technical College in Moscow, was a student of V. Favorsky and D. Kardovsky. Expressive caricatures of foreign politicians, Russian emigres, fascists; a significant part of the cartoons depicts Zionists, Jewish nationalists and other Jews. Text in Yiddish. Foreword by Moshe Litvakov (shot soon after).
With the inscription of the artist made in 1933.
Condition: Original embossed cloth binding. Stains on the covers. A small loss in the spine. Cracks in end papers.
Very rare book with attractive illustrations.

Avant-garde design, attractive covers, lots of illustrations. Good condition, the block is mostly clean. "A New Spectator" was a Soviet weekly magazine. It was published in Moscow in 1924-29. Initially, it was the organ of the Moscow Department of Public Education, since 1927 — "A Weekly of Theater, Cinema, Music, Variety and Circus", since 1928 — the organ of the Moscow State University of Political Education and the Management of Moscow Entertainment Enterprises. In 1929, it was merged with the magazine "Modern Theater".
