Illustrated circular and sales letter on company billhead advertising mouse traps sold by the Abingdon Trap Co. Specifically promotes the "Diamond Joe Mouse and Rat Traps" line of products. Includes a photo of the traps in the box, as well as before and after photos of the poor mouse who encountered one of the traps. Includes pricing, and mail-order delivery. Circular measures approx. 10.75" by 7.75"; billhead measures approx. 7.25" by 8.25

1898. Very good. Minor toning, chipping to extremities.. Offprint of the May 1898 issue of the "Medical Examiner", reprinting a paper read before the New York Medico-Surgical Society by Dr. J. Blake White, "Visiting Surgeon to the Department of Correction, New York". Within, White advocates for the use of Viskolein in the treatment of sepsis, pyaemia, and "kindred maladies" (p. 7). 12mo (6" by 3.5"), pp. 8, stapled in original green printed wrappers.

Concord, [NH]: Hill and Moore, 1819. Significant wear.. 106 pp. paper on board. Abridgment of Murray's English Grammar, with An Appendix, containing exercises in orthography, in parsing, in syntax, and in punctuation. Designed for the Younger Classes of Learners. The reverse of the title page has a 3" pen and ink and ochre watercolor heart with the initials S. P. at center. Sally Philbrick, Deerfield [MA] penned on end papers. Measures 5 1/2" x 3 1/2

Germany: Abzieh-Bilder, 1880. Very good. Light toning. Wear/minor short tears to envelopes.. Two (2) brown paper envelopes, each measuring 6" by 5", with chromolithographed onlays advertising Abzieh-Bilder Transfer Pictures, i.e., Victorian scrapbook transfer patterns made in Germany for use in the United States. Each envelope depicts a beautiful young woman holding a bouquet of roses. "Decalmanie" and "Calcomania" are terms referring to the Victorian craze for decals and scraps. Four (4) sheets of the original transfer patterns included (depicting everything from horses and buggies to farm animals and ships), as well as one small embossed chromolithographed scrap of roses.

England, 1850. Very good. Minor staining. An attractive 12mo-sized Valentine by the maker Meek, using lace paper which has been lithographed and hand-colored. The text reads, "Accept this offering dear and true. Affection bids me pay to you." Image is of a serene lake with autumn trees, morning glories. Measures approx. 5.75" by 3.75

Trade catalogue for the McCabe Hanger Manufacturing Co., advertising their Accordion or Folding Door Hanger system. Includes a blueprint-style illustration of how the system works, as well as two illustrations of the finished folding doors in open and closed position. Price list includes model numbers, code word for ordering, and prices. Bifolium (9" by 6"), illustrated.

New York: M. Day Printer, 1852. Pictorial paper wrappers, illustration of cow on front, the Selling of Joseph to the Ishmaelites on the reverse. A detailed accounting on accounts payable and receivable on portions of each of the estates. Includes a detailed accounting of an auction of the property of Calvin Pennell. Only a partial accounting, back cover indicates $21, 120.43 brought forward. 6 1/2" x 7 3/4" toning.

Farmington, NH, 1856 - 1864. A copy book used to by Jonathan D. Roberts to keep an accounting of his guardianship of Timothy Stevens from 1856 - 1864. On the first page is a note that states Roberts was appointed Stevens guardian on February 5, 1856 and that this fact was advertised in the Dover Gazette on the first Tuesday in February. Next is an inventory of the Estate of Timonth Stevens valued at $1,011.37. What follows is a list of expenses incurred by Roberts, such as the cost of board, travel to the probate court, the cost of his services and a list of different bills paid out. The front cover has an engraving of a monument that states "To Washington". The back cover has a multiplication table on it as well as the note "Always for sale, a general assortment of Blank, School, and Miscellaneous Books..." There is no mention of a publisher. Boston, MA: William Peirce, 1936. General wear. Appears to be missing its blue wrappers.. The item is a copy of an address given by Rev. Rufus P. Stebbins, (1810-1885), a member of Harvard Divinity School on the society's first anniversary in 1836. His speech was considered to be an attack against the concept of a "defensive war". That term is defined as a war in which one country is mainly just trying to defend themselves from another, versus a war where both sides are attacking, invading, and trying to conquer each other. In this way, according to the "Just War tradition", which is a doctrine on military ethics, a defensive war is considered to be a "moral justifiable" criteria for war by military strategists. After the address is printed the first annual report of the society as well as its constitution and list of its current members. Noted members of the society were Amasa Walker, Charles K. Catalogue No. 38 for the Advance Machine Co., makers of Advance Vending Machines made to dispense everything from Books, Candy, Fortunes, and Golf Balls, to Toys, Peanuts, Cigarettes, and even "Electricity" (though we are not sure how this one works). Includes illustrations of forty-five (45) different vending machines and mechanisms, used in public spaces such as movie theaters, diners, and general stores. Note the vending machine for fortunes, as well as the charming postcard machine with images of film stars. Single vol. (11.5" by 8.75"), pp. [8], illus., original self wrps.

A nineteenth-century boy from a Mississippi River town recounts his adventures as he travels down the river with a runaway slave, encountering a family involved in a feud, two scoundrels pretending to be royalty, and Tom Sawyer's aunt who mistakes him for Tom. 9 1/4" x 6 1/4" wear on cover, binding starting to loosen, inscribed.

A charming promotional leaflet for talks given by Eleanor Coray Forman on the history of women and bonnets: "In this unusual and inspirational talk Mrs. Forman uses fascinating bonnets to illustrate worthwhile qualities in life; old fashioned bonnets for a sense of humor, an aviatrix helmet for courage, lovely bonnets to typify the quest for and appreciation of beauty, a Quaker bonnet for simplicity, a sunbonnet for the enjoyment of home life, a nurse's cap for service, a student's cap for study and a bride's bonnet for love". Forman used poetry and music to accompany her talk. Eleanor Coray Forman (1899-1980) was a children's librarian who served as a missionary in India for five years. She was a librarian at the Wakefield and North Andover Public Libraries, and directed the religious education program at the Maple Street Congregational Church in Danvers, Massachusetts. Advertising flyer (8.75" by 5.5") for Sozone, an antispasmodic for the treatment of asthma as well as "spasmodic croup, whooping cough, or hacking cough of phthisis, and in all spasmodic cases where the pneumogastric nerve is involved" (verso). On the recto is a price list and letter from its founding doctor describing the use and benefits, while on the verso is a group of over fifteen physician testimonials.
