Softcover. Very Good. Signed. This is an approximate 2 1/2 page letter written by the playright, Martha Morton in response to two stage suggestions for her character, Dupre. SIGNED and dated ("June 11th, '91") by Martha Morton on the third page. The letter is on a single sheet of heave grade paper, folded in half to create 4 sides. The letter has a horizontal crease (folded for an envelope?) and there are glue stains and a tear on the blank side where it was backed to a lager piece of paper. The tear shows through to the second written page. There is also some light toning to the letter. Overall, Very Good.

Linen and Fennell, New York, 1841. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. Blind and gilt stamped full black leather; all edges gilt. Four engravings by L. P. Clover, Jr. The volume is edge rubbed, corner bumped with boards exposed, and abraded on the front joint which is also partially split. The interior has soiling, turned corners, light to mildly toned pages, and pencil notations on the front endpaper and at least two other pages. Includes early and some first appearances of William Cullen Bryant, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr., Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Emma Willard, John Greenleaf Whittier, etc., also, apparently, the first book appearance of Robert Montgomery Bird's "God Bless America".

MBI Publishing Company, 2002-03-17. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. Signed. Generically inscribed, "Hawkeyesforever", and SIGNED by Edwin Leigh Armistead on the base of the half title page. Fine volume in an unclipped, mylar sleeved, dust jacket, which has trace wear on the spine tail.

Lee and Shepard, Boston, 1878. Hardcover. Good/Poor. Brown cloth with beveled edges stamped in black and gilt; all edges gilt. The facing panels are soiled and spotted; the spine ends and corners are lightly bumped. The interior has light foxing and is overopened in a couple of places. The laid in soiled and dampstained dust jacket is in four separate pieces and is missing most of the spine. There is a 1877 (published 1878) Christmas inscription on the second endpaper.

Inscribed to Otto Penzler, dated, and SIGNED by Eric Ambler on the title page. Fine volume in a mylar sleeved dust jacket which has light edge worn and perimeter toning, and lifting to the laminate along the front joint.

The volume is lightly edge rubbed, bumped on the spine ends, and the spine gilt is dulled. The text leaves are gently toned. The dust jacket has clipped corners and is a heavy graded burgandy textured paper with a gilt stamped leatherette spine label. It has mild edge wear and soft creases on the spine ends.

Harper & Brothers, 1923. Hardcover. Good/FACSIMILE - Fine. 1923 printing with M-X on the copyright page. The volume is bumped and worn at the spine ends and corners. The gilt lettering has faded, especially on the sun toned spine, and there are a series of white specks on the front panel. The pages are very lightly age toned. Housed in a fine, mylar sleeved, FACSIMILE, dust jacket. Winner of the 1924 Pulitzer Prize in fiction.

Sidgwick and Jackson, 1/1/1918. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good-/Very Good-. The book has a 1/2" tear at top of the front joint and two small holes on rear joint; there is, also, small crinkling at the top of the rear pastedown next to the hinge and a corresponding mark on the rear endpaper. The dust jacket has shallow chipping at the spine ends and corners and a 1" closed tear on the front panel. Book is housed in a custom chemise and slipcase.

Self Published, 1826. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair-Good. Blue paper over boards, Brown ribbed cloth spine. Paper spine label on acetate cover. The volume is heavily edge rubbed with the boards about 60-70% exposed at the edges. The panels are scraped, abraded, and a few pieces of another medium have adhered to the rear panel. The hinges are cracked, preliminary leaves are light to mildly foxed, and the first signature is loose and is literally being held in place by threads (sewn binding) and the final leaf is detached. There is also some waviness to the page edges (exposure to humid environment). The 3 page colored folding frontis is in good condition and most of the text is in quite good condition and tightly bound in.

First Edition, Second issue with illustration on verso of half title and pages IX, X, & XII instead labeled XII, XIII, & XVI. Laid in is a card inscribed "Truly Yours", and SIGNED "Mark Twain". The card is of heavy stock and was previously attached to another sheet of paper, the remains of which are on the verso. A glue stain is present on the bottom edge of the card and very minute amounts of foxing are present on card face. The original cloth covers of the book have had the corners professionally touched up and the original spine is professionally refurbished although still age darkened with the gilt considerably less bright than the front panel. Limited Editions Club, 1936. Hardcover. Very Good. Slipcase Condition: Very Good-. Limited to 1500 copies, this is # 598, SIGNED on the limitation page by ther illustrator, John Austen. Gilt stamped green cloth; top edges rust. The volumes' spines are rubbed, soiled, lightly sunned, and the extremities are bumped. The slipcase is unevenly toned, has areas of soiling, the opening edges have a few abrasions, and there are short splits and abrasions on the joints. This is a large and heavy set of books. Priority and international mailings will require additional postage.

Quarter bound in gilt stamped black leather over paper covered boards. Both spine are rubbed and have abrasions, mostly at the extremities, and which interfere with the publisher's name. The slipcase is edge rubbed, with occasional loss to cxolor intensity, but is still very good to near fine. Priority and international mnailings will require additional postage.

The volume is lightly edge rubbed, gently creased on the spine, and the red spine lettering is a bit dulled. The pages are lightly toned. The uniformly corner clipped dust jacket (price of is 2.50 is intact) is edge rubbed, chipped, nicked and lightly chipped on the corners and spine tail (the crown has an angular chip running its length to a depth of 3/8" at the rear joint), and there are stains on the bottom edge of all panels. A few short closed tears, creases, and a mildly sunned spine also mar the jacket which has been wrapped lightly off-center to the spine.

The volume is rubbed on the spine ends and has a lightly soiled and faded spine. The front hinge is starting, there is an inked name, date and inscription on the front endpaper, and the volume is a bit overopened in a few places. The fragile dust jacket, protected in a sleeve, has areas of staining (mostly from reinforcing tape on the verso), is edge worn with corner and spine chips, has some closed tears (longest is about 1/2"), and has a mildly sun lightened spine.
