Publsihers' black cloth with silver titles to spine in unclipped dust-jacket. Corners very slightly bruised otherwise a clean bright copy. Jacket a little nicked & creased to edge, and lightly surface soiled to rear white panel. Near Fine in Very Good jacket. A study of Hitchcock's early films made before his departure to Hollywood, from "The Pleasure Garden" in 1925 to "Jamaica Inn" in 1939, showing how many of his later major themes were explored in his early work. Includes a detailed plot summary of each of the 13 movies.

Lacking half-titles. Scattered light foxing, mainly to prelims and endpapers; no annotation or inscriptions. From the library of Ballyarnett House, Derry, a late nineteenth century Arts & Crafts country house, with the address in gilt at tail of spine. Novel set in the Highlands by Edmund Hodgson Yates (1831-1894), British journalist, novelist and dramatist, best-known today for his work as editor of society newspaper The World.
