This particular copy is a review copy sent by the Director of Marine World unimo-nakamichi, Seiiciro Wakisaka and the editorial board; a letter from Wakisaka is laid in at the front. The Sciaenidae are a family of fish commonly called drums or croakers in reference to the repetitive throbbing or drumming sounds they make (from Wiki). The text is mostly in Chinese but there is a 20 page summary at the end in English. Captions to figures are in both Chinese and English with Latin names used throughout the volume.
