Description:
Union, N.J.: Christian Educational Association, 1970. A later issue of the long-running right wing newspaper notable for reprinting Francis Parker Yockey's first published article, "The Tragedy of Youth," which originally appeared in the August 21, 1939 issue of Father Coughlin's magazine Social Justice. As Bolton relates, beginning in 1966, Common Sense adopted a more Yockeyan tone, especially in its nuanced approach to the Soviet Union. This shift in direction was under the influence of contributor Fred Farrell (Morris Horton) and cost the newspaper a third of its subscribers (see Bolton, pgs. 333-339). Yockey's article was part of this issue's thematic focus on right wing youth, and includes a lengthy article by Revilo P. Description:
Tucson, Arizona: Mettler Studios, 1975. A fundraiser for the American Friends Service Committee's medical and rehabilitation centers in Vietnam for the care of child victims of war. The book was published by dance instructor Barbara Mettler and featured two of her students: Quaker activist June Yungblut (1925-1982) and Stephanie Bantlin. Yungblut contributes the titular poem inspired by the horrific photograph of South Vietnamese child Kim Phuc walking naked down the road after being burned in a South Vietnamese napalm attack. The image is repeated throughout the book and is juxtaposed with photographs of young dancer Stephanie Bantlin. Stapled, photo-illustrated wrappers (8" x 9 ¾"), [46] p., photographs. Ex-library from the Northampton branch of the American Friends Service Committee, with card pocket taped to front free endpaper, AFSC stamp to the top of p. [5]. Uncommon institutionally. We find eight copies in OCLC.
