Description:
[London]: Wildfire, [2017]., [2017]. First edition. First edition. Signed by the author. Author's first novel. As new, unread copy in dust jacket. Set in idyllic Cambridge, England, Mark Henry Evans, a successful novelist and aspiring politician, lives in a spacious mansion with his pretty blonde wife, Claire. In this alternative reality, the world is divided into “Duos," people who can remember things for two days, and “Monos," those who can only recall events for one day. In a society entirely dependent on technology, the human brain essentially crashes every 24 or 48 hours, and needs to be rebooted. People do retain basic facts about themselves ... names, spouses, jobs, addresses ... so that society can at least function. But most short-term memories are stored in iDiaries and every night responsible citizens update that day’s details into their iDiaries, which the authorities may or may not be keeping under surveillance. The next… Read More

Description:
[London]: Little, Brown and Company, [1997]., 1997. First edition. First edition. Fine in dust jacket. In the quiet English town of Deerton, violence erupts when four boys invade the home of schoolmate Barry Noakes, where Barry and three of his friends are settling in for a night of videos and pizza. As the ruffians begin trashing the house, one of the boys runs to a neighbor, Daniel Stewart, for help. The melee spreads outside, and Stewart is killed. None of the eyewitnesses is willing to rat on who are the actual killers. Instead, a tacit agreement of silence has been reached in spite of rising pressure from parents and the local police to reveal what they know. The students are divided between their loyalty to their peers and the horror they have seen committed in front of their eyes.
