Publisher's embossed blue cloth with gilt lettered and decorated spine. This classic biblical tale retold by author and Newbery Medal Winner Elizabeth Yates (Buffalo 1905-2001) is strengthened with bold wood-engraved illustrations by her longtime friend and collaborator; British author, illustrator and engraver Nora S. Unwin (1907-1982). The book is set in Poliphilus, cast from English Monotype matrices, upon the suggestion of eminent typographical historian Stanley Morison. Composed, printed and bound by the Plimpton Press. Cloth
