Very little light wear to corners, Front endpaper spotted and tanned strip to left hand margin of page 9. Otherwise near fine in good protected dustjacket with round picture on front of gunner watching a flight of birds from undergrowth. Small loss to head and foot of spine corners. Small pieces missing from rear corners and some wear to edges.

Spines stamped in gilt with library numbers at base. Front boards with round blind stamp "Finsbury Public Libraries" Internally stamped on half-title, verso of title page, last page of text and in margins of 2 other pages. Library book plate on front pastedown of both volumes. Top edge grubby. A nice tight matched set. Very Good.

Pictorial green and red cloth with black titling. Spine faded, LCC prize label with Library Withdrawn stamp inside front cover and similar stamp inside rear cover. Internally clean with no other stamps. An almost very good clean copy.
