Nicely bound in full brown calf. Spines with four blind-tooled slightly raised bands with gilt-boxed compartments and black title and volume labels and date in gilt to spine foot. Gilt fillet borders to boards.
CONDITION
Good condition overall with bindings holding quite firm. A few surface marks and scratches to boards with a small loss of leather to lower front hinge of vol I / II. Stain line across front board of vol III / IV. A little rubbing to hinges and spine tops and mild bumping to corners. Book measures 165mm x 135mm approximately.
Nicely bound by Hatchards in half green grained gilt-ruled calf over green boards. Spine with five gilt-ruled raised bands and gilt boxed compartments with title, author and date in gilt. Nice quality heavier gauge paper pages. Top page edges in gilt, remainder uncut.
CONDITION
In overall good condition. The binding is in firm and tight condition. There are some general scuffs, marks and knocks to the binding and some small losses of leather to some of the spine compartments. Light rubbing of hinges and board edges, and bumping to board corners. Internally the pages are wonderfully clean and bright with just some minor dulling to end-papers.
Overall, a nice signed binding in good condition.

Single gilt fillet border to both boards with further triple fillet gilt-boxed panel with elaborate cornices. Engraving to title page verso plus a number of further full-page engravings.
CONDITION
In overall good condition with binding holding firm. Some signs of early-stage cracking to upper hinges, and a slight crease along spine length.
