An early production from the Scorpion Press. The book was recommended to us after publishing Colin Dexter with Macmillan. They shared the same editor. Thy was spot on as the title was awarded the Gold Dagger.

This copy is as new from our stock. In fact one of the few that was recently "discovered" unpacking! It has a maroon leather spine with an appreciation by Andrew Taylor (crime writer and reviewer). Only 75 numbered copies produced and signed by Minette.

This is first edition/printing of an early Evelyn Waugh novel. Only the novels Vile Bodies and Decline and Fall precede it. The book has been rebound with a dark blue leather spine with a gilt title label. It has light double tooled band at the top and base of the spine, and around the label. It it has a tool line at the edge of the leather where it joins the marbled sides. The endpapers are not original. The sides are a gold wavy pattern, and the top edge has been given a light colouring. A pleasing rebind, probably carried out some years ago. The condition overall is nr fine, Slight fox spots to pp 298 - 302 and on half title o/w clean, tight and sound. Please do request supporting photos.

This is one of the three most collectible novels that Waugh issued in this golden period during the 1930s. Comic satire of genuis. The first page even mentions the additional value of a signed first edition. This copy is Very Good, no dust jacket, and not signed!

This is David Williams (died 2003) first detective story featuring his series detective Mark Treasure, a merchant banker. Williams was a high powered captain of marketing and advertising. He knew famous people. This particular book is inscribed by the author to John Reid, dated 1976. Reid was then the manager of pop superstar Elton John.Nice fine copy.

A mid 20th Century classic of English Lit, and a giant novel in the the SF tradition of H G Wells. This is an elusive first edition copy in the original jacket. Loose to the jacket on the jacket as can be seen on the photo. Also, nicks to the corners. The book is Very Good with no inscription or marks, and it therefore a collectible copy looking for a good home.
