Kidwell photographic studio, Syracuse, Hamilton County, Kansas. Sent from Syracuse, Kansas by Robert Popkins to his parents Sept. 20 and to his brother Chas. Aug. 7, both living in Halstead, Kansas. The cards titled No. 1 View of Syracuse and New Steel Bridge, Syracuse, Kans. In the message to his brother Robert describes a 2 1/2 hour trip with his mulke team "down to Syracuse" "had a runaway and then made them travel the rest of the way." He also mentions "it is still windy out here and the dust blows a fright". The one to his parents mentions "stayed all night in Bucklin and came to Dodge this morn. Caught No.9 here will see my Co. In 1927 Walden helped train sled dogs and drivers for Admiral Richard E.
