Blue cloth, gilt lettering front cover & spine, t.e.g. (minor shelfwear, very minor bumping to corners, minor wear), still a VG- copy. First edition of this excellent Civil War biography detailing the career of General Wadsworth who survived the debacle at the First Battle of Bull Run under General McDowell, received the command of the 2nd Brigade, 3rd Division I Corps, commanded the Military District of Washington, D.C., and was finally commander of the 2nd Division, II Corps at the Battle of Gettysburg. General Wadsworth’s Division bore the brunt of the Confederate attack on the first day of Gettysburg at the vanguard, suffering nearly 50% casualties, they then continued to fight at the defense of Cemetery Hill, and then Culp’s Hill. He was shot and killed later during the Battle of the Wilderness in May, 1864.

Schwarz stamp on rear endpaper. First edition of this scarce mystery set against the backdrop of three young men unraveling industrial espionage, and fraud at a western lumber mill. Wadsworth (1901-1959) graduated Ogden High School, and after attending Utah State, worked at the Ogden Carnegie Library, and afterwards the Dept. of Agriculture, Ogden High School Library, and during the war at Clearfield Naval Supply Depot, and librarian at the Univ. of Utah. She wrote many juvenile mystery titles, including Mystery at the Black Cat, Masquerade Mystery, and others.

First edition, stated, of this mystery/thriller based on his original 1929 play, and set against the backdrop of horse race fixing, suicide, and burglary. Second edition of this nicely executed photographic essay of the big game animals of the Rocky Mountains in and around Colorado, with illustrations of cougar, mule deer, bighorn sheep, coyote, and even a rattlesnake. Buffalo Bill replaced Theodore Roosevelt in writing an admiring introduction regarding the splendid images. The essay by Grant details how he and his wife traveled through Colorado, and the difficulties they had in obtaining the shots.
