Van Dine wrote the book for his friends, George Burns and Gracie Allen but Paramount decided George was not necessary for the screenplay and wrote him out. Lighlty bumped and rubbed, pages faintly tanned. There is a small nick to the upper edge of the final 10 pages and two drip marks to the fore edge of the text block.
