This is an anthology of poems selected in a contest in 1927 to celebrate Charles Lindbergh's flight across the Atlantic Ocean that same year. Includes a few notable names from that day (William Rose Benet, Babette Deutsch) and many who were likely published here for the first and perhaps only time. Binding is straight and tight. Some penciled notes on front free end paper by previous owner/collector that make reference to an individual who served as a judge in the contest. Gilt lettering on spine is slightly faded but still quite bright and legible. Light age toning to all pages commensurate with age. No creases, tears, or markings to any pages. The DJ is nearly as perfect except for a crease along the bottom of the front cover, hence Near Fine. 219 pages.

The spine may be slightly cocked at bottom due to longterm shelf slant, but its very slight and sometimes I'm inclined to say its not cocked at all after I've laid it down and picked it up again. But I thought it's better to say it than not. Otherwise the book is flawless. No creases, tears, or markings. The DJ is Near Fine due to a small crease at the bottom of the interior front flap and a 1-11/2 inch crease at top of back DJ cover (not price clipped). Index. 246 pages.
