Tight and VG (light soiling and spotting at the panels, small ghost of a former price sticker to the front pastedown) in a crisp, VG dustjacket, with very light scratching and creasing along the front panel and spine. Still though, very presentable. Octavo, part of Academic Press's formidable "Pure and Applied Mathematics" series.

Munich: F. Bruckmann, 1935. Pictorial wrappers. Very Good. Handsome 1935 look at the work of German architect W.V. Breuning (of Munich and Cologne). Here focusing on his weekend retreats --mountain hideaways, hunting lodges, circular houses. Each study includes floor plans and both interior and exterior views, with a number of color plates in addition to the crisp black-and-whites. Solid and VG, with its mounted pictorial illustration to the front cover. Light wear and light staining along the panel edges, light pencil doodles to the rear panel. Octavo, text exclusively in German (in the fraktur).

Illinois: The Rainbow Party, 1915. Original wraps. Very Good +. Uncommon 1915 Vachel Lindsay offering by the Rainbow Party of Illinois, in anticipation of the state's 1918 centennial. 3 Vachel Lindsay poems, a "triad", here re-issued in 16mo and (in 2 of the 3 cases) re-titled. "The Illinois City", "The Illinois Village" and "The Illinois Farmer". A clean, VG+ copy in its original green wrappers. The text --a single signature-- has come undone from its paper binding but still fits in snugly between the wrappers. An elusive, very early Vachel Lindsay item.

Solid and VG to VG+ in its pictorial, oatmeal cloth, with very light staining along the panels. Quarto, a saucy, ribald text, with illustrations by the author to match. "This is just a picture book wih a little writing too. It is about the West Coast of Norway wher I have spent the last 5 summers." Quirky, eccentric and very appealing.

Venezia (Venice), 1838. Full leather. Very Good +. The 1838 original printing of this memoir by the great Italian physician and researcher Valeriano-Luigi Brera. Lovely in its rich red, full leather binding, with elaborate, decorative blindstamping and gilt-rule and design at the panels. Bright gilt-lettering and intricate gilt-tooling along the spine. 3 beautiful hand-colored plates of Venice (executed by Gio. Pividor) complement the text. Octavo, all edges gilt. Clean and VG+, with light wear at the spine base, occasional foxing internally and a tiny armorial bookplate to the first blank endpaper. Brera (1772-1840) here focuses on the spas of Bad Ischl and Venice and their curative powers.

Here offered are 6 volumes in the series: Vols. 4, 5, 6, 9, 12 and 15. They're all in solid, very presentable condition and each includes its handsome, Paul Rand-designed dustjacket. All dustjackets clean, crisp and easily VG+ to Near Fine. The books as well, mostly all 1st editions in this format, are uniformly clean, tight and Near Fine. Bright and Fine in its elegant, marbled wrappers. ALSO INCLUDES A TIPPED-IN 1954 1 PG. TLS (on his personal stationary) from Carl Van Vechten.
