This paper employs a different epistemology to suggest an alternative explanation. By exploring in greater detail the analogies to West Africa upon which the ecological model heavily relies, it questions the significance of irrigation as an impetus for the urbanization of Teotihuacan. The letter discusses the soultion to a chess problem, which is hand written on verso. Signed by van den Berg. Wolfgang Pauly (1876-1934) was the greatest chess problemist of Romaina. He was also an amateur astronomer who discovered a comet, now named the Pauly comet.
