Description:
London: Herbert Jenkins, 1937. First edition of the second crime novel by William Underwood writing under the pseudonym of "Francis Duncan".1937 First Printing, so stated on the copyright page.Orange cloth with black lettering and ruled borders with the Herbert Jenkins winged pegasus logo on the spine, in illustrated dustwrapper. 310 pages, plus 10 pages of publisher's adverts. The book is very good with offsetting to the endpapers, all clen and in good ordre through, binding is firm and solid, sharp corners, cloth clean and bright, with a slight shadow to the spine from the wrapper illustration. The dustwrapper is quite good, with several tears, one with creasing, but all fairly neat and bright, only miimal loss to one tear, there is an oval 3/- price label fixed to the spine. There is foxing to the inside of the dustwraopper, almost none of which shows through, what with the wrapper design being mostly black. The book measures 5.25 X 7.5 inches.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good.
