Description:
New York: The Curtainless Shower Co. Inc, 1916. First Edition. Staplebound Pamphlet. Very good. Slim octavo, 8 1/4" x 5." pp. 48. Dark green paper covers, moderately worn around edges with a few small tears. Very small chips to top and bottom of spine. Corners bumped, particularly upper right corner. Interior pages very clean and bright with black and orange lettering and in-text illustrations. Essentially a printed "info-mmercial" Booklet advertising the convenience of showers, particularly the Kenney Needle Shower, a "Quick and invigorating way to keep clean." The model consisted of four shower heads pointed horizontally. As the booklet declares, "overhead showers now out-of-date" (11). Keeping Well by Keeping Clean extols the benefits of their shower, as an affordable, but luxurious product, while catering to new sensibilities about cleanliness. The Curtainless Shower co was established in 1915 in New York.
