The poem has parallel Italian and English texts. The work is in three parts: the life of Tansillo, 'The nurse' and 'Notes' on The nurse, each with its own pagination. The register is continuous. Contemporary tree calf, somewhat worn. With an engraved title-page, woodcut engravings before each canto (2), one at the head of the Inscription, and a small tailpiece afterwards. These have been attributed to Thomas Bewick by some, but are more likely by Bewick's apprentice, Henry Hole. ESTC T97230.
