Tacoma: Tacoma Commercial Club and Chamber of Commerce, 1912. First Editon. Stiff Illustrated Wraps. Very Good. 4to. Pp. 33. Lavishly filled with colored black & white photography of Tacoma industry, neighborhoods, natural wonders, and more. Double-page bird's eye view of Tacoma at center. Stiff illustrated wrappers with colored photographs. Slight edge-wear, scuffs; withal, a bright, well-preserved copy. Of notable interest are the centerfold bird's eye view of Tacoma, looking northwestern from Wapato Waterway, and the many gorgeous photos of ships and prominent residences. Smith cites a promotional with the same title, with the typo in the title ("It's" as a mistaken contraction), that was printed by Lowman and Hanford. The edition at hand was printed by Riddle Brothers, Chicago. That said, we're ascribing the Charles Smith citation with the suspicion that Lowman printed a subsequent edition. SMITH, 10106. Bound in red three-quarter pebble grain morocco over matching red cloth, gilt lettering on spine. The first several leaves with a mellowed crease, else Fine. A superb, bright copy of this generous history and detailed overview of the Port of Tacoma, housed in a handsome binding with great shelf appeal. Prepared by the Board of Engineers for Rivers and Harbors, this is one title in a series of reports on major US ports created in preparation of prospective war utilization. The wealth of information contained is astounding; the frontis. photo of Commencement Bay, featuring a sign for the North Coast Limited, is impressive. An uncommon book, verging on rare.

With introductory notes by Lani MacGregor and Silvano Tagliapietra. Includes an interview with Lino Tagliapietra by Tina Oldknow, and a selected list of institutions featuring Tagliapietra's works. Bound in full color photo-illustrated stiff wraps with french fold. Laid in is a price sheet for works from the series. In late 1999, Tagliapietra initiated work on a series of kiln-formed glasswork at Bullseye. The result was an 11-work series he titled La Carta dei Sogni. The photos and text document his process. A superb copy.
