Half bound with red leather over spine and corners, and marbled paper over boards. Raised spine bands, with gilt lettering and decoration. Top edge is gilded. Marbled end leaves. Covers are a little rubbed along the edges and s how a few scuffs on surface. Spine remains bright and attractive. Top hinge (internal) is cracked, though holds tight. Scattered light to moderate foxing, affecting some plates mostly on edges... tissue guards more so. Volume remains tight. Four parts extracted from separate volumes of the "Archives Du Museum d'Histoire Naturelle," and bound together in a single volume. Premier Memoire from Tome II (1843) is paginated 485-592, plus plates XXIX-XXXIV; Second Memoire from Tome IV (1845) is paginated 5-42, plus plates I & II; Troisieme Memoire from Tome V (1852) is paginated 529-584, plus plates XXVI-XXXI; & Quatrieme Memoire from Tome X (1861) is paginated 1-100, plus two page index, plus plates I-VI. Twenty plates total, with all but the last four being hand colored. Bound into modern black cloth covers with gilt stamped lettering on spine. Slight moisture stain affecting first couple of leaves. Title page is a little pulled away and shows a one inch closed tear near binding. Interesting quincentennial publication documenting the voyage of Columbus, with interspersed patriotic writings.

Torino: Ermanno Loescher, 1882. First Edition . Cloth - Hard Cover. Good/No Dust Jacket. 4to. J.G. Keulemans and Others. Pp [3] 174-217, plus two hand colored plates. Offprint from "Memorie delle Reale Accademia delle Scienze di Torino, Series 2, Vol. 34." Interleaved are twelve additional plates and some text extracted from various issues of "The Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London." Of these tipped in leaves, eight are hand colored, and four are not. This includes two sets of the same illustrations (and PZS number), though with one being colored and one not. The bookplate of James Edmund Harting (1841-1928, British Ornithologist and Naturalist). The blank fly leaf has a small piece cut out from the upper corner, where a presentation note from the author to Harting has been professionally inserted. Hinges are cracked and a little loose. End leaves are darkened. Covers show general light wear.

London: The British Museum, 1895. First Edition . Cloth - Hard Cover. Good/No Dust Jacket. John G. Keulemans and J. Smit. 636 pages, plus 19 color plates after John G. Keulemans and J. Smit. Ex-Library in red cloth library binding that is a little faded over spine. Call numbers are gold stamped into spine. There are a few mostly non-intrusive small library stamps. There are one inch circular blind stamps on all plates. The stamps are barely visible and are mostly in the colored back ground.

Clinton, NJ: Amwell Press, 1985. Number 186 of 1000 copies numbered and signed by Jack Samson, Victoria Blanchard, and Jim Rikhoff. Mild musty odor. Lettering/decoration on spine is a little faded.
