This is a book of tales, and short stories all containing some type of a spiritual teaching within them. The author Idries Shah wrote many books like this, mainly based around his knowledge of the Sufi religion. Idries Shah was born in India in 1924. He died in 1996. Idries Shah grew up in England. In 1960, he established his own publishing house, Octagon Press. He published works of his own through this medium as well as the works of other authors. The book is a most interesting blend of short and longer fables and it also includes a few proverbs such as this one: "A hand and a foot do not clap together".
