A handsome book in which the subjects illustrated have been chosen more as links with the past than for their picturesque qualities, and the notes on their history have been gathered from sources both written and oral.

London: John Churchill, 1838 Illustrations and descriptions of the animals and minerals employed in medicine and of the preparations derived from them including also an account of animal and mineral poisons. 46 lithographic plates, 44 of which are hand coloured with tissues. Some tissues are aged in varying degree and some are lacking. Most of the plates are clean and the binding is tight. Light ageing to some text pages.A good copy of an interesting book.
