Brown boards with leather hinges and gold lettering. Spine in missing otherwise condition is very good. 291 pages of imortant men of Hawaii in 1917. Many full page photos, others 4 photos per page. All well reproduced. All races including Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, and Hawaiian are featured as well as Cooke and Dillingham. Many of the names will be recognizable to those with knowledge of Hawaii.

Signed by the author on the title page. 617 pages.

History and stats of the Dipsea Race run cross country from Mill Valley to Stinson Beach in Marin County, California. First run in 1905 the book has many photos of the race and includes a trail map and updates for the 1994 and 1995 races in a pocket in the back. Inscribed by the author.

Light green covers with great illustration of Gordon on a Camel in gold, red and brown on front and spine.  No dustjacket.  Covers are soiled and worn at the edges and corners.  Interior clean with some browning.

Black covers with attractive blind stamping on front and gold lettering on front and spine. Lettering on spine is faded but readable. Pastdown endpapers are browning. A large book (8 X 11 inches) with 406 pages may require extra postage. Most of the book is the history of the various towns in San Mateo County.

Black covers with lettering on the spine. Inscribed by Virgil Thomson who composed the music for this opera. The DJ is missing the spine and large pieces of the top but the title and author on the front is intact.

Book is near fine with small previous owner name and date on FFE.  DJ has staining at top corner, missing 1/4" at top of spine, quarter sized piece missing from bottom of spine and other small chips at edges.  DJ shows price of $2.75 and 360th Thousand.  A very nice copy for the price.

Originally published in 1852 this is a very rare third edition, second printing by Ticknor. According to Ticknor and Fields Copyright Books in the Houghton Library, Harvard University, only 700 copies of this edition were printed in 1864 from the original Jewett plates. Only one library in Woldcat has a copy of this edition.The volume has been professionally rebound with original dark brown front cover, replaced spine with original spine glued on showing original gold lettering of title, author and publisher. Back cover is replaced. Title page has been professionally repaired with tissue but shows original title, subtitle, author, publisher and date (see photos) Interior pages are complete but show wear and occasional staining. Previous owner name on title page and related owner name on original back endpaper with notation Nevada City, Cal.

Many of the items are signed by the authors and several committee members signed in the front. Small bookplate on FFE. Printed by Taylor Publishing Company, Covina, California. One inch tear in cover at bottom of spine.
