A very good copy of a relatively rare publication - just 850 copies being limited.

There are two ALS's to the front paste down - one from March 1955 thanking him for information regarding the latest date fro distributing information about the Grey Squirrel and one dated 1983 explaining he had no further information on Wilfred Melluish and commiserating with Dr Bevan about his deteriorating health. The third and longest ALS is attached to the reverse of the rear end paper and dated 1954 with much information on the Grey Squirrel in Southern Herts. The book has been profusely illustrrated with colour photographic images and there is gilt embossed lettering to the spine. Beautifully illustrated with numerous full page drawings and numerous decorations throughout. Gilt embossed design to the front board and spine and gilt embossed lettering to the spine. There is an advertisement for the book loosely inserted, very fresh. Significant fading to the spine with slight rubbing to the gilt and light fading to the head of the boards. A small soil spot to the front edge of the spine strip and slight scattered soiling to the rear board. Otherwise the book has very fresh, clean and tight, well preserved pages. A very good copy.

There is a light bump to the tail of the spine and a slight soil mark to the the margin of one page. Fresh and clean. A very good copy.

A couple of light soil marks to the front board and a light stain to the upper fore edge. The spine is lightly faded. The pages are fresh and clean. A super, very good copy.

Bound in beige cloth boards with gilt embossed lettering to the black title block on the spine and a gilt embossed publishers vignette to the front board. There is a light bump to the head of the spien and to one board corner and a bump to the tail of the spine. Previous booksellers ink stamp to the front end paper. Clean and tight. The dust wrapper is price clipped and has some rubbing to the head and tail of the spine of the wrapper with slight chipping. Short tear of 1 cm to the head of the spine of the wrapper, now repaired with acid free archival tape to the reverse of the wrapper. A very good copy of this book in a good wrapper.
