First published 1914; Collected Edition, of which this is the second reprint, was first published 1926. A volume in "The Works of 'Saki" [H.H.Munro] by this publisher. Six-page introduction by H.W. Nevinson. Lower cover corner bumped with light corresponding creases to first few pages of text block and crease to lower front dj corner. Faint rubbing to spine tips. Otherwise clean, tight, and unworn in a clean and intact but chipped dust jacket. Both lower and upper jacket spine tips have 1/4" x 1"chips; horizontal closed tear at mid-point of spine; tiny closed tears to upper front and lower rear jacket panels.

Similar to the author's "Physiography for High Schools," this text is "a briefer book along the same lines, adapted to a half year's course. . .a few topics have been omitted, but more have been abbreviated and simplified." With detailed chapters on the lithosphere, the atmosphere, earth relations, and the ocean. With numerous maps (some three-color), drawings, diagrams, and some photographs. Moderate rubbing to cover extremities. Old school label to lower spine. Small school inkstamp on title page; small date inkstamp to inside front cover. Early, slight breaks in hinge paper, shorter than 1/2,' two at front, one at rear. Clean and tight.

New York: Arrowood Press, 1990 Black cloth; oblong format, "coffee-table" style. Reprint; originally published by Alfred A. Knopf, 1976. Copiously illustrated with beautiful, dramatic color reproductions, many full-page, by the renowned naturalist and artist. Accompanied by many excerpts from Seton's original writings. Several irregular bump dents to lower edge of both front and rear covers, a couple of which expose the boards. Lower cover corners lightly rubbed. Otherwise clean, tight, and unworn in a lightly-to-moderately edgeworn dust jacket. Short closed tear to upper front panel at spine has been repaired with clear tape.

Boston: New York Graphic Society, 1977 Gray cloth. Oblong format. Following the Introduction is a "vibrant, unforgettable. . . " collection of vintage black-and-white photograph reproductions of " a region and its people between the years 1855 and 1920, " with captions. Faint sunning to margins of cover cloth. Small prior owner inscription in red ink at upper corner of front endpaper. Otherwise clean and tight in a lightly edgeworn dust jacket.

New York: Thomas Y. Crowell & Company Publishers, 1897 States "fourth thousand" on title page. Decorated green cloth cover; gilt title and spine. Illustrated with five black-and-white text plates and tissue-guarded frontispiece plate. Boards bright and crisp with only faint rubbing to cover extremities. Front endpaper missing, and neat brown tape repair fastens inside front cover to rear of frontispiece illustration. Frontispiece upper corner clipped. Closed tear along inside edge of front tissue guard. Few closed tears to margins of one text plate. Intermittent light-to-dark-brown smudges and stains to some text margins. Diagonal creases to top corners of some text pages. Otherwise clean and intact.

New York: Sheed & Ward, 1945 Sixth printing; original copyright 1941. Bambi-type animal drama set in Alaska; intended for juvenile readers. Two-color map endpapers by Le Roy Appleton. Single color text illustrations by Keller. Faint wear to cover cloth; light discoloration of cover cloth along lower 2" of front cover and upper cover edges. Otherwise clean and tight.

New York: William Edwin Rudge, 1928 Good-/No Jacket Paper-covered boards. With an Introduction by William Elliot Griffis (written a few weeks before his death). Illustrated with half-tone reproductions. Romantic historical novel set in Japan, written by a Fryeburg, Maine author during the period of increased U.S. popular interest in the Far East. Neat handwrtten corrections to first page of Introduction and page 119 of text most likely made by author. Cover corners and spine edges moderately-to-heavily rubbed; slight cover discoloration. Front endpaper removed, exposing binding hinge. Library marks: inkstamps to inside front and rear covers and title page; neat catalog digits at upper margin of Dedication page.

New York: Grosset & Dunlap Publishers, 1928 Good/No Jacket. Early reprint. Vintage novel by Maine author. Moderate rubbing and wear of cover extremities; spine cloth irregularly foxed/blotched (moderate browning). Prior owner name in pencil inside rear cover; interior otherwise clean and intact.

Self-published, 1969 Heavy brown card wraps; plastic comb binding. Typewriter script. With some simple black-and-white drawings. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author, who preferred to call himself the compiler, on first (dedication) page. Does not appear to have been published with a title page. Sayward (2009-1921), who lived in New York, Massachusetts, and Indiana, was a member of the Early American Industries Association and at various times had been an officer, director and editor of their quarterly publication, "The Chronicle." He created and was a member of Early Trades and Crafts Society and British-American Rhykenological Society (BARS). He donated his vast research library to the Davistown Museum in Maine, which houses the Center for the Study of Early Tools; they renamed its library the Elliot Sayward Library. Very light general wear to cover, except upper notches of rear cover have worn away from plastic binding. Clean and intact. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall

Includes six-page "Table of Doses of Remedies Most Frequently Administered" and short sections on poisons and antidotes, incompatabilities, and drug classifications. Moderate rubbing to cover extremities. Light scuffing to cover cloth. Prior owner signature in wax pencil on front endpaper. Two very faint stains to inside cover (one a pencil remnant, the other a tiny spot). Otherwise clean, tight, and unworn.
