Paris, France : Memoires de Litteratures , 1808. First Edition. Softcover. Good. Exceedingly scarce in the trade, and available in only a small handful of academic libraries. Two articles, mostly in French but with snippets in Greek, published seemingly in First Edition state, and in structurally sound, attractive condition, having been disbound from a larger volume comprising contributions to the Memoires de Litteratures, a premiere social sciences and humanities journal founded in France by Armand-Gaston Camus in the 1790s. The first Memoire is pp. 315-394, still solidly together, string from binding slightly loose, with only mild sunning along edges of the rag paper, light foxing even lighter soiling thereto, else clean, unmarked. The 12-panel, laid in illustration at rear is titled "Plan et coupe du char funeraire qui transporta le corps d'Alexandre de Babylon en Egypte" (D'apres la description de Deorde de Sicile)." The Second Memoir is from pp. 395-456 and attached to… Read more
