The decree provides that to avoid disruption of commerce by the bloackade of Mexican ports by the naval forces of the United States of America, foreign ships and Mexican ships coming from foreign ports are allowed to enter and unload in the un-authorized ports when they are unable to arrive at the authorized ports, including Alvarado, Tuxpan, Goatzacoalcos, Soto la Marina and Tecoluta in the Gulf of Mexico, and Manzanillo in the Pacific. This permission will cease after the blockade expires.
A very interesting and apparently unrecorded decree.

No copies on OCLC (Yale has a copy of an April 28, 1839 broadside denying charges of treason from General Pedro Ampudia). General Pedro Lemus was an important general and member of the new government junta in Saltillo, immediately after Mexican independence was declared. During the war with Texas, he served as Commandant General and Inspector of the Eastern Interior Provinces. Lemus later joined the Canales cause at Matamoros in October 1838, rebelling against Valentín Canalizo and Martín Perfecto de Cos. Together Canales and Lemus laid siege to Matamoros. In rebellion with Federalist sympathizers against the Centralist government, General Lemus was occupying Monterrey for a second time when he issued this broadside addressed to his troops. Six Cabinet Card Photographs of Pioneers. [California?]: [No publication information] [Circa 1900-1910?] Six black and white photographs 4.5 x 6,5 in on curved cardboard mounts 5 25 x 7.25 in.
Excellent images of cowboys with a covered wagon. The images show cowboys on horse-back with a covered wagon; using poles to get the wagon up a steep trail; wagon and riders on a trail; wagon, horses and men in camp; view of a town with hills in the background and view of a farm or ranch. I was told by my seller that these images were with other images of Lakota Sioux, perhaps in Montana or Wyoming.
