Unbound. Very Good. PEACOCK, George., St Saviour Gate, York. A three page handwritten copy dated 1840, of his original will of 18th July 1806. The paper is watermarked J & J Town Turkey Mill, 1832. Accompanied by a modern transcript of the will. ~ He bequeaths to William Peacock (watchmaker), and Thomas Peacock "all that my farms, lands, tenements and hereditaments situate standing , lying and being at Tollerton..." also, his property in Saint Saviourgate, and the Shambles, York. There are also provisions for his wife Ann, and other bequests to family members.

Second Edition, published in a limited edition as a facsimile of the original 1939 edition on the occasion of an exhibition of Roland Penrose's work by the Arts Council of Great Britain. 30 unnumbered leaves, containing his photographs, surrealist poetry and "unconventional layouts", using various typeface in both black and red. A very good clean copy in card covers. small 4to. The Arts Council. 1980. ~ In 1938, as Europe prepared for war, Roland Penrose and Lee Miller made a journey together through the Balkans. Penrose was a painter, author, and curator. Miller, previously a model, was a brilliant photographer. As they travelled, Penrose created pictures and took notes, and on their return produced a charming handmade photobook for Miller--a surrealist love poem, drawn from his own memories and records.
