Neat previous owners name and address stamp to top of front free endpaper. Minor rubbing to the edges but overall a very good copy of this beautiful delux edition.

Black cloth binding with gilt lettering to the spine and front board. A fine copy in fine dustwrapper of this fascinating look into a little known art medium.

Pages a bit toned but overall a very good copy bound in recent full tan morocco leather binding. Spine with raised bands, two red morocco labels, gilt. Single gilt ruled border on boards. Top edge gilt. Adverts dated March 1894 at the end. Original publishers decorative pale purple cloth boards and spine, designed by Charles Shannon, bound in at the rear.

Original buckram with gilt lettering to the spine. Attractive floral designs by Charles Shannon in gilt to the spine and both boards. Spine and hinge edges of boards cloth is darkened but the gilt is still bright. Fore and bottom page edges are untrimmed. Offsetting to the blank free endpapers otherwise a bright and clean copy throughout. --- Mason 365.

Beautifully illustrated with 9 colour plates by Alastair. Finely bound, by Bumpus, in contemporary half plum calf. Spine with 5 raised bands. Compartments double ruled, fully decorated and lettered in gilt. Salmon pink cloth on boards. Marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. Light spotting to the blank endpapers otherwise a lovely bright copy in a fine early twentieth century leather binding with just a small are of abrasion to the top raised band on the spine. This edition contains a bibliography of the various editions of Salome published prior to this one.

A small amount of light offsetting to the blank endpapers. Some mottling to the spine and a little bubbling to the cloth on the front board but overall a very good copy. Sylvia Beach. Shakespeare and Company. Paris. 1929. FIRST TRADE EDITION. 8vo. (7 x 5.6 inches). Page edges tanned, as usual, a small stain to the fore edge of the first handful of pages and a few minor chips to the edges of a few leaves, otherwise a very good example in the original cream coloured paper wraps, printed in black to spine and both covers. Some loss to the top of the spine, but not affecting the lettering, and a small closed tear and some minor chipping to the extremities. Paper a bit toned and rubbed but overall a presentable copy. There was also a limited edition of 96 numbered copies on thicker verge d'Arches paper issued simultaneously with this issue. This early critique of Joyce's final work was published some 10 years prior to the publication of the finished novel. Part of the incentive to publish was apparently to raise funds for the perennially impecunious Joyce. Chipping to the top of spines on vols one and three otherwise an attractive set. Bookplate of William Roundell, University College, Oxford, in each volume. A collection of writings by various authors originally published in 140 parts between Nov. 7th 1752 and March 9th 1754.

Both sets of endpapers with some offsetting, mostly to the margins and possibly a reaction to the glue used in the book's production. Publishers blue cloth with title and Author on the front board, within two ruled borders, all in dark blue. Spine lettered and ruled in gilt. A near fine copy of the book in a very good original dustwrapper with price of 7/6s on the spine. Some chipping to the top of the spine and a couple of small chips to the top edge of the rear panel. Overall a better than very good copy.
