Barack stands grinning in a black tuxedo with bow tie and American flag lapel pin, with his right arm around Michelle. Michelle is in a magenta shoulderless dress, hands clasped in front of her, smiling widely as well. Behind them is a large and amply decorated Christmas tree. Inside, the card reads "May the holiday season and the coming year be filled with joy for you and your family." Underneath this message, Michelle and Barack sign in facsimile. This is an original campaign card sent to contributors. Measures approximately 5.75" x 7". No date. In fine condition, with no blemishes, completely clean and bright. A lovely piece of holiday ephemera from the Obama's.

Oberlin College was coeducational from its founding in 1833 making it the oldest coed college in the country. Known for its progressive activism, the college admitted African American students before the Civil War. Its first African American alumni, George Boyer Vashon went on to become one of the founding professors of Howard University. Yearbook includes class rosters, various organizations and clubs, student and faculty photos, campus views photos, student literature and illustrations. Great Ocean Yacht Race" -Original Currier and Ives color Litho: Caption below the image states: "The Yacht "Fleetwing" of N.Y. 212 Tons. Competitor in the Great Ocean Yacht Race, from new York to Cowes, Dec. 1866. Making the run in 14 days 6 hours mean-time." Published by the Currier and Ives publishing house, which existed from 1835 to 1907. Depicts a handsome yacht named "Fleetwing" on its transatlantic voyage from New York to Cowes, on the Isle of Man in Britain. 17" x 13" inches framed, print itself is approx. 14" x 10" inches. Comes in the original dark wooden frame, this lithograph was a graduation gift to a young man in 1941, with the original dedication on a label on the back of the frame. Overall very good condition.

Two Antique Currier & Ives lithographs of Ocean Yachts. One is Litho is of the 1854 Clipper Ship "Dreadnought" and the other is the 1867 The Great Ocean Yacht Race between the Henrieta, Fleetwing and Vesta. New York: Currier & Ives. These lithograph prints were published by the Currier and Ives publishing house, which existed from 1835 to 1907. Lithograph, printed in color and finished by hand, 1857 and 1887. (c.1880). Large folio - image size apox 13.5" x 18". The Dreadnought print includes below the image,the ship's dimensions and carrying capacity, and the Yacht Race print includes details of the results of that race. Both Lithos have minor creasing and some closed tears along blank edges, not affecting the beautiful color image. Overall in very good condition and attractive.

Signed boldly "Sandra O'Connor". Usual folds faint thumb-soiling. Small tear in lower fold crease under signature. Very good condition overall. In her 1 page TLS, O'Connor praises a colleague and promises to give his research her full attention: "You sent me a copy of your article 'The Rebirth of the Nation' last October. I have set it aside to read when time allowed. I have done so at last and commend you on another thoughtful discourse.".

World War II Archive of 37 photos of the American military occupation in Okinawa Japan. Archive of original black and white silver gelatin photographs each measuring between 3.75" x 4.5" to 7" x 10.5". Not dated, but most likely 1945. Short handwritten captions on verso. Photos depict American troops in the Okinawan interior, in locations such as villages, shrines, farmland, and the Yontan airfield. Yontan was a primary goal for the American invasion, and was secured on April 1st, the first day of the invasion. Several photos show destroyed equipment and infrastructure, likely a result of the brutal and hard fought takeover of the island. In one photo, we see a Japanese plane crashed and ablaze, with another close-up shot of debris likely from the same wreck. We can also see American ships in an Okinawan harbor as well as offshore, with a small crew driving an LSD 7-4 transport ship. The photographs were issued by "BTE Guerard" a photography and estampe publisher located at "204 Rue de Rivoli" by "Au Jardin des Tuileries" with his label on the verso of each photo Vintage sepia photos of famous Parisian landmarks including the Le Boulevard Saint-Martin, the Arc of Triomphe, the opera, the place de la Concord, Saint Germain and the Madeline on Rue Royale. Some of the images show Paris streets before the automobiles with multiple horse-drawn carriages and Parisians in nineteenth century clothing. One other image shows a panoramic view of famous Paris bridges on the Seine with the Notre Dame in the background. A look back through time at the famous streets and monuments of Paris. Dime novel. Cover wrapper bears colorful art-noveau illustration of a woman in a flower crown sitting on long-stemmed plants. First volume is "A Detective's Daughter;" second is "Marie the Dancing Girl." "Old Sleuth" is believed to have been a pseudonym of Harlan Page Halsey. Female detective characters were extremely rare during this era of dime novels at the end of the 19th century. Book has wear at upper spine, as well as minor chipping and some uneven edges on front wrapper. Otherwise, brightly colored and in good to very good condition; Illustration in Art Nouveau style of the era, a long hair woman with flowers. Very rare copy of one of the first detective stories featuring a female protagonist and the First Female Detective Pulp Novel. Albumen photograph on photographers board showing several well dressed gentlement in front of a Western storefront. Photograph measures 8" x 6" on an 8" x 10" mount. Circa 1890. In this photograph, 5 men and one young boy stand outside Browns' Department Store and Shepard and Maupin's grocery store in an Old West town, along what appears to be the main avenue. The grocery store advertises "fancy groceries", which could be referring to goods such as the bananas that are visible through one of the front windows. Bananas were not readily available or even known about in the U.S. until the late 1880s, which suggests that this photo was taken between the 1880s and the turn of the century. Off to the side, we can see a shopkeep painting the wood paneling outside his business. An interesting photo showing a shopping area in a frontier town. Some minor chipping along right edge and 1/4 inch paper loss at top left corner. Some blurring at top left and bottom left corners. In very condition overall.

All measure about 8" x 10" one slightly larger. Two in color and four in black and white. Once Upon A Time in the West was Sergio Leone's 1968 epic western masterpiece starring Henry Fonda and Charles Bronson. Time Magazine named it one of the 100 greatest films of all time and The Guardian ranked it third in its list of "The 25 Best Action and War Films of All Time." Two photographs are lobby cards with the title in French in a box in the corner. Four are scarce behind-the-scenes photographs with captions taped on verso. Archive is in very good condition.
