Library of Congress deposit copy with rubber-stamped mark at the title page, "Q889" in pencil on the upper cover, wraps with a couple of small chips, moderately soiled, spine partially perished, Good or better. The author was the brother of noted photographer Isaiah West Taber. Charles Taber went west from Massachusetts with the Gold Rush and arrived in San Francisco in 1850 He tried his hand at mining, captained a ferry boat between Sacremento and San Francisco, and eventually became an artist and author. In addition to other titles relating to climate and geology, he wrote "Rhymes from a Sailor's Journal."

Original limp black roan with fold-over flap Binding rubbed, partially split & torn along the fold, entries often light without compromising legibility, otherwise Very Good Evan Crane (1827 - 1894) taught school in the winters & farmed in the summers. Zaritsky, who died in 1985, was one of the founders of the Ofakim Hadashim group He was awarded the Israeli Prize in 1959.

No place, no publisher, no date (ca. 1946). Original camera-ready political cartoon by Bishop. Pencil, pen & ink on thick paper measuring 12 inches by 10 inches, verso blank, signed lower right.
Lightly toned, small tear in the top margin (not affecting illustration), slight edge wear, pinhole lower left margin, otherwise Very Good or better.
Quite possibly the work of Daniel Bishop, the art work is characteristic but the signature is not. Additionally, the text provides "Knudson's 20% Tax Reduction" but almost certainly refers to Congressman Harold Knutson (R. Minnesota) who introduced legislation to that effect in 1946.
Regardless, a really cool piece which depicts a grinning Uncle Sam slicing pie with the lion's share for "Money Man" while "Labor" requires a magnifying glass to see his portion.

Includes substantial content regarding the extensive travels of Edward Daniel Clarke through Italy, Scandinavia, Finland, Russia, Siberia, Asia Minor, and Greece. In addition to his accomplishments in minerology & chemistry, Clarke was one of the founders of the Cambridge Philosophical Society.
