Three people are killed in quick succession and Sam is made to seem the killer." Filmed as A SCREAM IN THE DARK in 1943 by Republic Pictures with George Sherman as Director and Anthony Coldeway and Gerald Schnitzer as screenwriters. The author wrote six mystery novels and three were made into movies. He was born in Minneapolis in 1905 and died in Hollywood in 1954. He also served time in prisons for bad checks and forgery.
