Description:
Detroit & San Francisco: The House of Songay & Julian Richardson Associates, 1975. First edition. First edition, softcover issue. Signed by Imari Obadele on the half title, inscribed in red ink "To Brother Dadisi [sp?] and Sister Maisha, Best wishes. We shall FREE THE LAND! Imari Obadele, I." ii-xiii, 154 pp. Bound in publisher's yellow wraps with black lettering. Good overall, some soiling and wear to wraps, corner crease to front wrap, foxed edges, a few notes in ink throughout by an unknown hand. Scarce in the trade, especially signed. A key work in the Republic of New Afrika movement that was begun in 1968 as a radical Black nationalist and separatist movement, declaring five southern American states to be a new nation. Obadele began as the information minister of the group, then took over the presidency from Robert F. Williams in 1971, holding that position until 1991.

Description:
Milledgeville, GA: Georgia State College for Women, 1945. First Edition. Very Good. Three rare yearbooks documenting the creative college years of acclaimed Southern writer Flannery O'Connor. Her linocut illustrations (which received renewed attention with a Fantagraphics collection in 2012) are very prominent in the 1944 & 1945 volumes, making up the endpapers of the latter and heading its every chapter. There are also numerous photos of her in her various endeavors as editor of The Corinthian (GSCW's literary quarterly), and participant in the yearbook, the International Relations Club, the Town Girls' Club (for student relations) and the Newman Club (for Catholic students). A rare showcase of her formidable creativity and personality in context. First and only editions. 144; 146; 156 pp. Three volumes. Original faux leather bindings. Very Good with soiling to covers and light wear, rubbing to letter, occasional slight foxing to contents, various notes in margins and underlining as is typical…

Description:
New York: Random House, 1936. First Edition. First edition. Signed by Clifford Odets in the year of publication, inscribed to actor Fredric March and his wife, "For Mr. + Mrs F. March, with the appreciation of the Group Theater. Sincerely, [signed] Clifford Odets 1/18/36." xiii, [i], 204 pp. Bound in publisher's navy cloth with gilt spine lettering. Very Good, edges foxed, in Very Good dust jacket, dulled spine panel, light wear and stain at foot. A great association between playwright Odets, with one of his more difficult plays, and Hollywood actor Fredric March, a major star of his day. Odets' thanking March for his patronage of the experimental Group Theater collective, who put on this play, is a nice bit of Great Depression-era theater context too. The Group Theater would last ten years total; their biggest success would be the following year with Odets' play Golden Boy.
