New York: Little, Brown, 1942 1950 reprint edition with red boards in very good condition with very good minus dust jacket designed by Maurice Sendak which has green and blue plaque with author and title surrounded by black and white brickwork upon which are six reddish brown crows. Price clipped. Slight edgewear and some surface wear on spine and front. There is a one inch tear on bottom rear cover and a half inch tear on upper rear cover. Prev owner's signature in south sea blue ink on ffep has been scored with black felt pen, but not before the blue ink left traces on dj front inside panel. The red boards with gold lettering and chocolate band are still clean and bright. Corners and spine are good. A very nice book in brodart cover.

Scarlet boards with tan spine and rust colored lettering, blind stamp of Twain`s signature on front board. Some foxing on inside cover. No writing. Good edges and corners, rust tinted top edge, rough cut side edges, as new binding, possible toning to cream pages and some dustsoiling to edges. Very Good Unclipped DJ is missing one + one quarter by three quarter`s of an inch chip from back lower edge and small chip from upper spine. There is surface wear and slight crumple, but front panel is complete: colour picture of Twain in rocker and white suit smoking a cigar.

Very fascinating insider's view, explaining, for example, that the Wells had not done Swan Lake since 1970, so many of the company had not only never done it, they had never seen it. Further, Swan Lake always evolves: the original choreography has been lost and it is generally expected that a new production will have a new interpretation. Barbara Newman and Leslie E. U.S.: Delacorte Press/S. Lawrence, 1975 Lennart Nilsson's pioneering photographs of in vivo post conception human life were shown to the world in Life magazine in 1965. A Child is Born, the original Swedish version of this book, also published in 1965, sold eight million copies in the first four days after publication. According to Wikipedia, some of the photographs were later included on the Voyager spacecraft. This 1975 edition actually shows naked human bodies and acurately and matter of factly describes intercourse, pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding. Nilsson shows a baby being born with head emerging from the mother's body "through the hole between her legs called the vagina. . . . Giving birth is very hard work for a mother. Afterwards she has a great feeling of relief and joy." Very nice book in very good condition. There is a small stain on the back free page. Boards are clean and straight. Dust jacket is clipped and has two tears around one inch and several chips.

London: Vintage, 1998 I'm not sure about the provenance of this book. It purports to be a Vintage product out of London, 1998 and a later printing. The production is not up to the usual standard, and whether that is to provide an impression of authenticity or it is a pirated version, I am not sure. Copy looks unread, new in fact. It came with a brochure for two sister hotels, one in the other in Hue. Regardless, the review snippets rank it with All Quiet on the Western Front and accounts of the Viet Nam war by those fighting for the North Viet Nam side are certainly rare.

This lovely book describes a visit with a grandmother who bakes bread outside, has a lemon tree and can tell if people will have good luck by their foreheads. The story ends with a plea for peace. Near fine condition, one first name of previous child owner in pencil. Very light wear to edges and corners, otherwise like new.
