Interesting and curious case from the history of Russian-American relations. Pickford and Fairbanks were truly adored in the USSR. There were even candy bars "Douglas Fairbanks" with the actor's image on the wrappers. Each appearance of the artists on the screen was relished for a long time in periodicals. Rumors about the arrival of Pickford and Fairbanks in the USSR made a lot of noise even before their arrival. Fans wrote to the newspapers: "Is it true that they will visit our country?", " Are they here for a short time or to live?", " Will Mary and Douglas be filmed here?" On July 19, 1926, they were greeted at the Belorussky Railway Station as celestial beings.
