Leather shows quite a bit of wear along edges and corners, spine is chipped at the top and has an old glue repair to the top right edge. Internal hinges are cracked at front and rear boards but text pages are secure. Pages are toned due to age, some quite toned, and scattered foxing and spotting is present. Some pages show edge chipping with small tears with the worst being the title page front end page contains a gift inscription. Please note: this is a very large and heavy book that weighs almost 8 1/2 pounds. Non-US sales and priority mail shipping option will require additional postage, media mail should not be affected.

Internal binding is cracked at the front board and it appears the first canary yellow end page is missing. Remaining binding is good and text pages are tight. Rear pastedown has a couple ink spots on it. Pages are quite toned due to age and type of paper used spotting/foxing is present throughout. Good copy for reading or reference purposes but exterior is a bit rough. There were also a couple scraps of paper, one being a 1860s newspaper clipping, these were left between the pages as they did not appear to be reacting with the book paper.

Exterior shows scuffing and soiling with leather chipping along all edges, spine is missing a portion of the leather at the bottom and leather is also cracked at both boards with the worst being the rear, where the board is separating at the bottom. There is some pulling of the internal binding at boards though text pages are secure and binding is tight. The front pastedown has a set of initials or numbers written along the top edge but that is the only handwriting found in the book. No bookplates, no library markings, no repairs. Paper is quite darkened due to age and foxing is present throughout. The foldout chart is present and attached in the back of the book.
